Nurse Practitioners
Specialist nurses who can assess symptoms, examine you, make a diagnosis, provide you with advice on managing your condition, and associated treatment, issue a prescription, make a referral and arrange further diagnostic tests if clinically appropriate. They manage common illnesses, sexual health, contraception advice and long term conditions.
Paramedic
Similar to Nurse Practitioners, they manage those presenting with an acute presentation, common illnesses and minor injuries.
Nurses
Provide nursing care, management of long term conditions and conducting annual reviews, childhood immunisations, smear tests, contraceptive pill checks and hormone injection.
Nurse Associate
A generic nursing role that bridges the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses, to deliver hands-on, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team in a range of different health and social care settings. Nurse associates are members of the nursing team, who perform more complex and significant tasks than a healthcare assistant but not the same scope as a registered nurse.

Healthcare Assistants
Undertake blood tests, blood pressure checks, dressings, removal of stitches/clips, post-operative wound care, NHS Health Checks, ECGs, spirometry, vaccinations (flu, pneumonia, shingles) and vitamin B12 injections
Phlebotomist
Focus is performing blood tests and sending these off to the laboratory for testing.
Pharmacists
Provides medication advice, undertakes medication reviews, checks compliance and makes sure that your medications are working effectively.
