New provider for non-emergency patient transport

EMED Patient Care will be providing non-emergency patient transport services (NEPTS) for people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) from 1 July 2024.

This service is for patients who cannot travel to, or from NHSE facilities for non-emergency treatment because they have a medical need that prevents them from using private or public transport. The service is available to any patient (and escort, if applicable) registered with a LLR GP practice, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

EMED Patient Care is part of EMED Group, a specialist provider of a range of patient, mental health, community and courier transport services to the NHS and wider public sector. They provide a nationwide service, delivering more than one million journeys every year from over 50 operational bases across the UK and have a comprehensive fleet of ambulances and wheelchair-accessible vehicles to meet patient needs.

The Neighbourhood Mental Health Café Hopper Transport Service

We want those that need mental health support to access our local neighbourhood cafés, but we know that sometimes getting there can be difficult.

This is where the NWL Mental Health Café Hopper can help!

The service is available on Tuesdays, and you can either call on the day before 4pm, or book up to a week in advance
